Archbishop Renzo Pegoraro, President of the Pontifical Academy for Life, claims that Catholics could morally assent to a law permitting assisted suicide in Italy. Speaking to the Italian bishops’ newspaper Avvenire.it on September 6, he said: “From the Catholic side, it is a matter of assessing whether we will be faced with an ‘imperfect law’, to which it would nevertheless be moral to give one’s assent, in view of the fact that more permissive and libertarian laws could otherwise quickly be approved in Parliament, laws far more harmful to the dignity of the sick person and the value of life.” Leo XIV appointed Archbishop Pegoraro as President of the Pontifical Academy for Life on May 27, 2025. For a decade, he had already drawn attention for serious deviations from Catholic doctrine on matters of life, including statements that contraception might be morally permissible under certain circumstances. On March 25, 2026, Leo XIV appointed Pegoraro a titular bishop and gave him the personal …Zêde
Bishop Patrick Neary of Saint Cloud, Minnesota, issued a diocesan warning against the Priestly Fraternity of Saint Pius X (FSSPX) after an unauthorized Mass was celebrated in the diocese. In a letter dated September 2, Bishop Neary said he had learned of a social-media post promoting a meeting at the restaurant Opole Pub to “explore bringing the Latin Mass” to Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Opole. The same post advertised a Latin Mass for the following day at the Opole Ballpark Pavilion, part of the local baseball grounds. Monsignor Neary wrote that neither event was sanctioned by the diocese. Both, he said, involved a priest of the FSSPX — “a group recently declared by the Holy See to be in schism with the Catholic Church because of the illicit ordination of four bishops without a papal mandate.” The bishop told Catholics not to “support or participate in FSSPX-sponsored activities, including inviting FSSPX priests to celebrate the sacraments.” He warned that doing so “can place …Zêde
A priest. Six bishops were excommunicated and have started the appeal process under canon law. The priest was NOT excommunicated. As bishop, he can make the mass illicit, but the mass is still valid.
The Commission of the Bishops' Conferences of the European Union (COMECE) has published a position paper (September 2) opposing the erasure of baptismal records under EU data-protection law. The EU's top court considers a case involving the Diocese of Ghent in Belgium. COMECE argues that baptismal registers are not membership lists but records of a historical event: that a baptism took place. Under Catholic canon law, baptism is received only once, and the record is used to establish a person's status for later sacraments, including marriage. The bishops add that requiring deletion could interfere with the Church's autonomy and institutional freedom of religion. They also note that baptismal records may contain information about parents, godparents and the minister of baptism, and may have historical, genealogical and, in some countries, civil evidentiary value. The dispute is before the Court of Justice of the European Union (CJEU) as Case C-12/25, Bisdom Gent. It began on March 25, …Zêde

Bishop Gerhard Feige of Magdeburg, Saxony-Anhalt, eastern Germany — conspicuously without his episcopal cross — posed alongside two Protestant church leaders to comment on yesterday’s AfD election victory in Saxony-Anhalt. The bishop is the small guy in the middle with the Karl Marx beard. In a joint statement, they expressed “great concern” and said the election had left the state divided. The AfD won 43.8%, becoming by far the strongest party. This historic result was made possible by months of massive coverage across German media (anti-AfD advertising), which kept the AfD constantly visible.

EXCLUSIVE: Bishop Schneider calls for ‘fatherly charity’ towards SSPX and responds to Sacrosanctum Concilium General Audience Niwa Limbu Sep. 2, 2026 EXCLUSIVE: Bishop Athanasius Schneider has called for “fatherly charity and magnanimity” towards the SSPX and offered his assessment of the post-conciliar liturgical reform following Pope Leo XIV’s recent General Audience on Sacrosanctum Concilium Bishop Athanasius Schneider is one of the most respected and outspoken traditionalist prelates in the Church today. The auxiliary bishop of the Archdiocese of Saint Mary in Astana, Kazakhstan, he serves in a country where Catholics make up less than one per cent of the population. The archdiocese itself was established just 23 years ago, making the bishop’s see an unlikely place from which to emerge as a prominent voice of traditional Catholic thought. Nonetheless, Bishop Schneider has become a source of inspiration and hope for a generation of young priests devoted to the Traditional Latin Mass …Zêde

“Mother of Salvation: Many will be stripped of their titles” Friday, October 17th, 2014 @ 15:30 My dear children please pray for my Son’s loyal sacred servants as future events take place. Many will be stripped of their titles and sent out into the wilderness, in disgrace. Turmoil and confusion will spread within my Son’s Church but the traitors will rise in great numbers and many will follow them. Other Christian Churches will become close to the newly adapted church, and then all will be set in place for a new global religion to rise up. This new form of church will, at first, seem to be a breath of fresh air for many who desire change. Then, it will become clear that it serves only those who want the Laws of God changed in order to suit their sinful lives. This church will lose the entire faith. It will have all the appearances of a new, renewed church of God but any symbols, which are meant to glorify my Son, will be nothing of the sort. Then, as the time becomes ripe, the new One …Zêde
Leo XIV visited Genazzano’s Shrine of Our Lady of Good Counsel on September 7, riding in an electric vehicle. He unveiled a fresco commemorating his May 2025 pilgrimage and celebrated the Eucharist. The visit reinforces an emerging pattern: Leo XIV enjoys getting out of the Vatican for drives, excursions and shrine visits, even as a substantial governing workload awaits him back in Rome.
Today, Leo XIV visited Genazzano - aboard an electric vehicle - to pray at the Shrine of the Mother of Good Counsel
Cardinal Raymond Burke has defended the title of Our Lady as “Co-Redemptrix”. Speaking at the Cathedral in Haarlem, Netherlands, on 6 September, Burke said: “The Blessed Virgin Mary is Co-Redemptrix, that is, she participates in Our Lord’s saving work, in a unique way.” This follows Cardinal Víctor “Tucho” Fernández’s controversial document 'Mater Populi Fidelis' (November 2025), which declared it “always inappropriate” to use the title “Co-Redemptrix”.
