German Bishops’ Conference president Bishop Heiner Wilmer says he will bring the “experiences” of homosexual couples to Rome for the Vatican’s Amoris Laetitia summit. Wilmer told katholisch.de that he prepared for the meeting, which begins tomorrow, by speaking with homosexuals and adulterers in a "second union". Pope Leo XIV has stacked the meeting’s additional invitees with several pro-homosexual cardinals, including Jean-Claude Hollerich, Blase Cupich, Robert McElroy, Joseph Tobin, Víctor Manuel Fernández, José Cobo Cano and Luis Antonio Tagle. Holandský pomocný biskup Rob Mutsaerts vo svojom prejave na konferencii o katolíckej identite v Pittsburghu minulý víkend položil otázku, prečo by sa mladý muž chcel stať kňazom: „Ak mu povedia, že sa stane správcom ôsmich farností, že jeho diár bude plný schôdzok a predovšetkým, že sa musí vyvarovať toho, aby niekoho urazil, a že po 20 rokoch mu možno niekto predloží strategický plán udržateľného hospodárenia s majetkom.“ „Je prekvapujúce, že sa vôbec niekto prihlási.“

Because statistics do not decide what is Catholic and what is not. Otherwise, we could build our argumentation on the statistics from Mecca, for example (or contemporary popularity of JPII as the pop star in his times, if you prefer). It is the modernist point of view (vitality of the religion as the criterion of its genuity/truth) - just as St. Pius X condemned it in Pascendi (and as R. Prevost proclaimed it in Metz). As I mentioned the key question here is really the “Catholic Identity”. Because, if the post-conciliar revolution belongs to the “Catholic Identity”, then "traditional Catholics" are, just as Tucho and his followers say, (at least materially) schismatics by rejecting it. If it does not belong, then neither do their adherents including but not limited to "conservative" post-conciliar bishops.

3 categories the 3rd being those who are quite well aware of the statistics and rejoice and are glad. Plainly they are not Catholic but no one is calling them out on their apostasy.

Montagna said Leo had demonstrated that he was capable of overturning decisions made by Francis, but noted that the reversals so far had largely concerned administrative and financial matters. Montagna then asked whether the Pope would be prepared to make changes in areas she considered substantially more important. “Does Pope Leo have the light, the will, and the courage” to reverse the “draconian restrictions” imposed on the traditional liturgy through Traditionis Custodes and the “ongoing revolution” of the Synod on Synodality, she asked.
Speaking at the Catholic Identity Conference in Pittsburgh on 3 October, Pentin said Leo “largely continues the post-conciliar revolution”, portraying the pontificate as one of continuity with Francis despite a noticeably different tone. “Pope Leo… is very much a continuity figure, continuing the post-conciliar course mapped out by Pope Francis,” Pentin said. Pentin acknowledged that Leo’s manner represented an improvement, but argued that the changes made so far were “largely symbolic and small scale”. Pentin also said he had “often heard in recent months in Rome” that people close to Leo “helped him get elected precisely so he might continue the revolution”.
Still, not good enough when they are talking just about "style", concerning these grave, very grave matters. Call an imperfect council. You're so many years already too late. Or you hope, Ed, that Francis III. will have somehow a bit more catholic style?!
Minnesota priest leaves diocese for SSPX, bishop begins canonical process
US priest affiliates with FSSPX, canonical proceedings started. Rev. Philip Conklin, 38, a priest of St. Paul and Minneapolis, has affiliated with the Priestly Fraternity of St. Pius X (FSSPX), and his archbishop has initiated a canonical process against him. It will presumably see the priest declared excommunicated. Archbishop Bernard Hebda wrote on September 30 in the archdiocese’s newspaper: “After confirming with Father Conklin that he does not intend to cease this affiliation, I have felt compelled to commence a canonical process to clarify the situation and his status.” Rev. Conklin was ordained a priest by Archbishop Hebda relatively recently, on May 25, 2024. In March 2026, he went on a six-month leave of absence to discern his priestly vocation.
