The instruction was included in a May 12 pastoral letter published on ArchdPdx.org The prayer should be said “after the conclusion of every Mass celebrated in the archdiocese,” describing it as part of a spiritual response to challenges facing the Church. The “Mission Renewal” initiative includes consecration of the archdiocese to the Sacred Heart, novenas, Eucharistic processions, fasting and penance, and works of mercy.
