The title of this post is not an exaggeration. Canada's Bill C-9, An Act to amend the Criminal Code (hate propaganda, hate crime and access to religious or cultural places) is now law. The Liberal governemnt claims the legislation aims to protect places of worship, make hate based crimes a criminal offence and criminalize anyone who promotes hatred against others by public signs and terrorism. The problem here is who gets to define the meaning of hate? The reason we say the legislation is an attack on Bible teaching and Christian belief is because the law removes the protection of religious freedom. This allow believers to quote from the Bible in "good faith" without legal consequences. Bill C-9 is a bad law, especially for Christians.
