Israel seized the Qalandia Training Center from UNRWA to build a new educational complex, claiming historical ownership by the Jewish National Fund and prompting Palestinian calls for UN intervention.
'Israeli' police forces took control of a United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) facility in Kafr 'Aqab, located in East Jerusalem, and evicted its staff on Tuesday, National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir claimed. Speaking on behalf of the police force, Ben-Gvir confirmed that a large detachment of police personnel carried out the operation to remove the UN agency from the site. "This morning, large forces of the 'Israeli' police removed UNRWA from the location," Ben-Gvir stated. "An organization whose employees were involved in terror and which repeatedly served as a cover for Hamas. You don't talk sovereignty — you act sovereignty. Jerusalem is the capital of the State of 'Israel', and so it will remain. And whoever establishes nests of terror in it — will be expelled."
